Simple steps to turn your bricks and mortar business to an online business.
We must not forget to practice having your own private space away from the kids, interruptions and distractions.
Most people have a spare room, garage shed or loft they can use to set up a temporary office. Apple founder Steve Jobs started out from his garage and besides we are all in the same boat so to speak so we need to make the most of a bad situation.
Now that we have sorted out your office space, the next thing we need to do is set up online chat, video meetings and online teams. If you are selling products and services you also need e-commerce store and payment gateways.
1). Set up online chat www.tawk.to (free and it shows everyone you are online. You can interact with customers as soon as they visit your site).
2). Set up online appointments www.reservio.com (free)
3). Set up online video meetings www.8×8.com (free and is more professional than Skype)
4). Every morning start like it was a normal day at the office, conference call all your staff and keep then in the loop.
5). If you run a bricks and mortar store, transition to an online e-commerce business with a payment gateway. We offer e-commerce stores free of charge for the first 3 months, long enough for you to see business being generated.
***Payment gateways for products and services that we recommend are www.stripe.comwww.gocardless.com and www.escrow.com obviously there are plently of others but we only recommend tried and tested gateways.
Hoping we all can get through this trying time relatively unscathed.
Meanwhile if you need any legal advice and live in Cardiff, Wales UK area do give these guys a call:
This is not my usual type of post but in light of the Coronavirus Covid-19 Pandemic I was thinking how can I help. But first I want to talk about what you have to do if you have or are facing this unfortunate dilemma of being made redundant.
First and by all means you need to sit your self down and compose yourself and get out a pen and pad. Write down all out outgoings down to the nitty griity and do not leave anything out.
Contact your local authority and sign yourself on for income support and housing benefit, you need to do this in order to survive.
Contact all your creditors and write them a letter asking for extended time to pay your loans, credit cards etc. You can even arrange a payment plan. They will be happy with your honesty and grateful to get the money even if it means it may take a while longer to pay back. Do not ignore this and hope it will sort itself out or go away. By ignoring it you will find extra charges being put on to a debt you are already trying to pay off. It is better to grab the bull by its horns and tell them the truth, they will then cap your debt so no extra charges will be put on providing you keep to your side of the agreement.
Start thinking of what you wish to do next, do you want to work for someone or do you want to be your own boss? If you choose to be self employed you must inform HMRC straight away and see what benefits you are entitled to whilst you get your feet off the ground. There is help out there but you need to do the research. I know that tax credits are going over to Universal Credit so you need to find out what you are entitled to? I know you can claim housing benefit and council tax but again you must inform them you are self employed.
If you chose to be self employed you need the motivation and determination to succeed.Do you research and if you already have a hobby you would like to turn into a business then you are already half way there.
Write a Business Plan. Write down all your outgoings and how much it will cost to run your business then calculate what money you have saved or is coming in.
Secure a website business is not going to happen overnight so you need to start advertising and securing your global positioning immediately.

So now that I have covered the majority of things you need to do, we have taken the desicion to help people get back on their feet.
Without a website how can you draw business your way without spending loads of money on expensive adverising?
Therefore we are offering 3 months worth of website hosting, seo and marketing to include an e-commerce store should you wish to do dropshipping. We will help you with business plans and teach you how to dropship.
We will market you free of charge and design a professional responsive website.
We will guide you all the way so that you never have to go through being made redundant again.
Finally should you choose to go down this route, you will be helping to boost the economy. After all without business the economy will just crash….. Be Your Own Boss!
Most of the jobs I have named above need little or no contact with other people physically, most of the businesses I have listed can be run virtually with a payment gateway so that people can just pay you through an app or a website. No need to handle money.
Finally if you need legal representation because your employer has not paid you what you are entitled to or if you are planning to sort out your estate and need a last will and testament then the following solicitor in Cardiff, UK: www.duddenlaw.co.uk is highly recommended. There is nothing morbid about doing a last will and testament even I have one and it is the most responsible thing to do especially in our current climate.
So as I sign off I just wish to say “Stay Safe”, “Stay Positive” and “Stay Home” !
With hand gels, soaps and antibacterial products in such high demand and sometimes out of stock, why not have a website where that has everything in one place dedicated to the Covid-19 Coronavirus. You could stock every cleaning agent on this site so that people do not have to spend hours hunting for products in shops and on the internet, saving the consumer time and leg work.
This website is ideal for someone out of a job and could potentially start their own business. Anyone wanting to help humanity and take this off our hands, so not hesitate to contact us.
ONE.COM on my mind today. To be honest I have never been happy with this company and am slowly moving all my work over to another hosting company, which they are aware of.
The reason for my rant today is that I have decided to stop the hosting on a couple of my domain names but still want to keep the domain names, only to be re-invoiced for the domain names. So what is wrong with that?, well nothing until you have a close inspection of the invoice where they are charging for (DNS Domain Administration). This by default is usually included in the domain renewals and if you look at the top registrars such as Godaddy or 123reg they include this by default and their .CO.UK Domain names are no more that £10 plus vat for renewals and not £23.51
Therefore ONE.COM are scamming people out of £9.60 for (DNS Domain Administration) Fee, which is normally included in any domain renewal as how else can you forward domain names or change DNS records without this system? It is part and parcel of the package and should not be be charged as an extra fee. Obviously the customers they have do not realise they are being charged for something that is already included in a domain renewal by default.
Furthermore in the chat the response from the support team simply said:
(03:07:49) Brian: Sorry if you consider it that way but that’s the only way for you to retain the domain.
I basically said I would post this on every blog and social media platform so that people are aware if you want to buy a domain name go with Godaddy, 123reg, IONOS to name a few and avoid ONE.COM like the plague.
When selling a domain name, give me one good reason why someone would buy your domain name? If a company is already in existence and have already branded themselves why should they buy your domain name. Is your domain name short and descriptive or an acronym? Is your domain name a top level domain extension.
The only way a company is ever going to buy your domain name is if has any of the following:
The company wants to re-brand themselves and wants a one word domain name.
The company does not own a tld domain extension matching your searchable keyword domain name.
The company is looking to acquire more traffic and is looking to set up a seo link wheel.
Is looking to acquire an email list.
Is looking to acquire your traffic.
Is looking to acquire your equity, such as stocks and assets.
My advise is: set up a website, help generate traffic for the would be investor and give them something that you can bring to the table other than just a domain name. People lack imagination and if they can see you have made an effort they may think that your idea is viable. By simply presenting a domain name 9 times out of 10 you will be rejected.
With the Coronavirus taking its toll on Global Buisness, I have been asked to broker this domain name www.worldwidevirus.com my first impressions were who would buy this and ruled out any Government Instituation. But Health Care Organizations and Pharmaceutical Companies could use this domain to their advantage. The Coronavirus I believe to have been deliberately orchestrated will be the first of many diseases that will find themselves infecting people around the world. This is Germ Warfare at its finest, silent but deadly. The domain name could also be a title to a book or a movie.
Money Laundering and Domain Names on my mind. As mentioned in my book that I wrote www.domainpowerbook.com I have always had my doubts about some of the domain names that have been sold in previous times for ridiculous amounts of money. Obviously the domains that are highly sort after dot coms can command high prices or domains which have equity attached with the domain. But when it comes to domains that online domain valuations and Google have low value for, but then you hear they have been sold for mind blowing amounts of money, you have to think is there an ulterior motives attached with the sales.
I for one always ask for a commission agreement form to be signed between the seller of the domain and myself. If the domain is sold for more than £1,000 I always ask both parties to fill in a due diligence form in accordance with “The Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds” (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 / Part 230 of the General Rules and Regulation of the Securities Act of 1933
You can download a copy of this form and change the footer of the document, all you need is to copy and paste the wording into a word document and save it.
One wonders what does the IRS think when large amounts of money are transferred surely this alerts authorities and send red flags. Banks especially want to know where the money comes from, I do not know about the United States but for the UK for sure they want to know where the money comes from and where it goes to. How does one justify paying 6 or 7 figures for a domain name to their accountant and if it is just a domain name alone without equity unless it was one word dot com how can one explain the transaction.
I always build websites for the domain names and show that the cost of web development, hosting and SEO as well as how much traffic is being generated. Nine times out of ten unless it is a highly sort after, a domain name does not sell if it is not developed not for high prices anyway unless there are questionable motives behind the sale.
So the moral of the story is if large amounts of money are being exchanged always cover your back and insist on a contract and a due diligence form to be be filled in accompanied but relevant documentation to authenticate the person/persons making the transactions.
If you want a copy of a contract that you can use for your own purposes, do not hesitate to contact me and I will send it to you by return.
Happy Reading Everyone!
